5 Key Coronavirus Metrics On Downward Trend In Bucks Co.

5 key metrics tracked by state officials as part of its coronavirus Early Warning Monitoring System are on a downward trend in Bucks County.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — There are no coronavirus patients on ventilators at Bucks County hospitals, according to Monday data from the State Department of Health.

That's just one of five key coronavirus metrics tracked by state health officials on the Early Warning Monitoring System Dashboard that are on a downward trend in Bucks County.

The seven-day average of coronavirus patients on ventilators now stands at 0 patients, according to the Early Warning Monitoring dashboard. That's down from 12.5 patients in mid-June. There are more than 40 ICU beds available in the county, data shows.

COVID-19 hospitalizations in Bucks County dipped from 5.1 over the previous seven days down to 2.4 in the most recent seven days.

Bucks County officials say in total, 10 residents are hospitalized due to virus. The county data includes residents hospitalized in Philadelphia and other counties.

Other metrics are trending in the right direction for Bucks County.

The positivity rate rate — a key metric used to gauge the prevalence of the virus in the community — is down a full percentage point over the past seven days. In Bucks County, the testing positivity rate is down to 2.5 over the most recent seven days. It had been 3.5 percent over the previous seven days.

Newly reported confirmed cases are also down. New cases have decreased from 234 the previous seven days to 185 in the most recent seven days.

The coronavirus incidence rate is down, decreasing from 37.2 cases per 100,000 residents to 29.4 per 100,000.

Of the six metrics tracked, just one is slightly elevated in Bucks County over the past seven days. The percent of hospital emergency department visits due to COVID-like illnesses is up from 0.5 percent to 0.7 percent over the most recent seven days.

The state Department of Health on Monday confirmed 384 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 124,844. No new deaths were reported Monday and the state's death toll stands at 7,468.

As of Monday, 560 Pennsylvanians are hospitalized for coronavirus and 95 are on ventilators.
