Andy Block To Run For Reelection To Council Rock School Board
Upper Makefield resident and two-term incumbent Andy Block is seeking a third term on the Council Rock School Board.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — A Council Rock School Board member is seeking a third four-year term as the director for Region 8, which includes Upper Makefield Township.
Andy Block, of Washington Crossing, was elected to the board in 2013 and ran unopposed in 2017. Block has cross-filed and will appear on both the Republican and Democratic ballots for the primary election on May 18, as will his challenger, 45-year-old pharmaceutical executive and Council Rock alum Keven Gessner.
Block has served for four years as school board president and previously led the master capital planning committee, served as co-chair of the finance committee and represented Council Rock on the executive council of the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology.

“Serving the Council Rock community over the last seven and a half years has been a tremendous honor," Block said in a statement. "I couldn’t be prouder to announce my candidacy to continue representing Upper Makefield Township on the School Board."
Block, a resident of Washington Crossing for almost 20 years with his wife Claudia, a preschool teacher, and his son Jake, a graduating senior at Council Rock High School North, is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University. He currently serves as senior vice president and chief sales officer of Charles Jacquin et Cie Inc., a Philadelphia-based distillery.

The last day to apply for a mail-in ballot is May 11. All mail-in ballots must be received by May 18 at 8 p.m.
