Art Show In Newtown Features Pet Portraits By Kids

The show, titled "For Pets Sake​," features pet portraits painted by 25 children age 10 and up. It benefits the Bucks County SPCA.

NEWTOWN, PA — Newtown's Countryside Framing & Gallery is hosting a student art show that will benefit the Bucks County SPCA.

The show, titled "For Pets Sake," features pet portraits painted by 25 children ages 10 and up.

According to organizers, the students had finished their paintings in March right before the onset of the coronavirus shut downs. The artwork, finally on display for the public, can be viewed through Sept. 30.

The paintings are all hung inside the gallery, and each day a different student’s painting is chosen from the collection to be on display in the front window as the "Star Artist of the Day."

Also, note cards featuring images of each student’s painting will be on sale inside the gallery for $2 per card with 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit the Bucks County SPCA.

Countryside Framing & Gallery is located at 2 South State Street. Admission is free.

Masks and social distancing are required inside the gallery while viewing the collection of pet portraits. Gallery hours are: Sun-Mon 11-4, Tues-Wed 10-6, Thurs-Sat 10-7. For more information call 215-968-2246.
