BUCKS COUNTY, PA — An ice cream shop with multiple Bucks County locations has gained international buzz after Twitter caught wind of one of its more unconventional flavors.

OwowCow — with area locations in Wrightstown, Ottsville, Chalfont, and Lambertville, N.J. — is gaining plenty of online attention for its Mac n' Cheese flavored ice cream, which was featured on Patch on Jan. 21.

The hoopla began after bestselling author, Chuck Wendig, tweeted a picture of the flavor on Feb. 1, asking his followers: "this is ice cream annnnnnd should I try it."

Wendig did try it. His review was mixed, noting alongside another picture: "That is a piece of straight up Mac and cheese in there."

The tweet went viral, with thousands of likes, retweets, and comments.

Comic Tosh.0 then posted about the phenomenon, sharing a meme with an image of the ice cream that said: "I'm going to buy the entire month supply and watch it melt."

OwowCow responded by tagging the comedian and saying "Hey Tosh.0 - Don't knock it til ya try it!"

Soon after, the flavor got coverage from the Daily Mail as well as Delish.com.

Shira Tizer Wade, general manager of the creamery, said "it's been crazy" since the flavor went viral.

"We’re almost sold out and we’re considering making more! Maybe this time without the frozen pasta," Wade told Patch in an email.

She said currently the Lambertville shop has the famous flavor in the case, and there are a few pints available at the Chalfont shop.

This isn't the first time the artisan creamery has received attention for an obscure flavor. Last year, it offered pickle-flavored ice cream.
