NEWTOWN, PA — A Newtown resident was the victim of contractor fraud after meeting a cabinet maker at the Philadelphia Home Show, police said.

Steve Simpson, the owner of Simpson Custom Design, has been charged with home improvement fraud, theft, and related charges after police said a Newtown resident paid him $133,000 to have custom cabinets installed.

The resident met Simpson at the show and hired him. The resident paid the deposits, and after more than a year in delays, Simpson did not complete the project. The victim only received a small portion of their deposit in return, police said.
