Catalytic Converters Stolen From Newtown Business Commons

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department continues to field reports of catalytic converter thefts from vehicles.

On Monday, police responded to reports of catalytic converters stolen from commercial vehicles overnight in the Newtown Business Commons.

Detectives obtained security footage from businesses in the area showing the suspects arriving in a four-door green or teal-colored vehicle, with possible two-tone coloring on the driver's side front fender, occupied by two people.

Rising prices for some metals has led to an increase in catalytic converter thefts nationwide. The part contains precious metals that are valuable on the black market

Anyone with information on the suspects or the vehicle can submit a tip online.
