Voters in the Newtown area have weighed in on the candidates for Council Rock School Board.

NEWTOWN, PA — Voters in the Newtown area have weighed in on the candidates for Council Rock School Board in Tuesday's primary election.
All candidates cross-filed, meaning they appeared on both the Democratic and Republican ballots.
In Region 3, which includes three voting districts in Northampton Township, Bob Hickey won the Republican nomination with 841 votes (90.82%) to Paula Barson's 85 votes (9.18%), while Barson secured the Democratic nomination with 559 votes (71.76%) to Hickey's 220 votes (28.24%).

In Region 6, which includes four voting districts in Northampton Township, Michael Roosevelt won the Republican nomination with 844 votes (80.53%) to Roy Rakzawski's 202 votes (19.27%), while Rakszawski secured the Democratic ticket with 523 votes (77.94%) to Roosevelt's 146 votes (21.76%).
Region 8, which includes Upper Makefield Township, featured a three-way race between incumbent Andy Block and challengers Keven Gessner and Yota Palli. Palli won the Democratic nomination with 721 votes (63.52%) compared to Block's 285 votes (25.11%) and Gessner's 127 votes (11.19%). Gessner won the Republican ballot with 925 votes (70.40%) to Block's 348 votes (26.48%) and Palli's 41 votes (3.12%).

In Region 9, which includes Wrightstown Township, incumbent Kristin Marcell secured the Republican nomination with 695 votes (84.65%) to Nicole Khan's 124 votes (15.10%), while Khan secured the Democratic nomination with 504 votes (65.71%) to Marcell's 260 votes (33.9%).
Each seat carries a four-year term. All election results are unofficial until certified by the Bucks County Board of Elections.
