Council Rock School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Council Rock is September 5 for grades K-6, 7 and 9. The first day for all other students is September 6. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Council Rock School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• 8/22 - 8/24: Orientation for New Teachers (Voluntary)
• 8/29 - 8/31: Opening Days for Teachers, Professional Development

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: First Day for Grades K-6, 7 and 9
• 9/6: First Day for All Other Students
• 9/21 - 9/22: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/11: Early Dismissal for Students, AM Kindergarten Attends (Professional Development)

November

• 11/7: No School for Students (Professional Development)
• 11/20: Grades K-8 Early Dismissal, PM Kindergarten Attends (Elementary Afternoon and Evening Conferences, Middle School Afternoon Conferences, High School Evening Professional Development)
• 11/21: Grades K-8 Early Dismissal, AM Kindergarten Attends (Elementary Afternoon Conferences, Middle School Afternoon and Evening Conferences)
• 11/22: No School for Students (High School Professional Development, K-8 Morning Conferences)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/22: Last School Day Before Winter Break
• 12/25 - 1/1: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/2: All Schools Reopen
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/25: Early Dismissal for Students, PM Kindergarten Attends (Professional Development)

February

• 2/16: No School for Students (Professional Development)
• 2/10: No School (Presidents Day)

March

• 3/9: Early Dismissal for Students, AM Kindergarten Attends (Professional Development)
