Extreme heat Monday with temperatures that will feel as hot as 100 degrees will give way to a week of unsettled, stormy weather.
EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Extreme heat Monday with temperatures that will feel as hot as 100 degrees will give way to a week of unsettled, stormy weather, forecasters say.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from noon to 6 p.m. Monday. Heat index values of up to 100 are expected across the Philadelphia region.
Severe thunderstorms are likely in the evening, between 5 and 8 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with hail, gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning, the National Weather Service said.

But it won't end this evening: there's a chance of severe thunderstorms and heavy rain on Tuesday as well. The chance of storms lingers through Wednesday, although those storms don't appear to be as threatening, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
Things will settle Thursday, when it will be sunny but hot with highs above 90.

Stormy conditions return Friday, when there's a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms. The pattern could continue into the weekend, as current predictions indicate there's a chance of storms both days.
