The New Hope-Lambertville summer fireworks along the Delaware River are back, and the first show is this Friday.
The New Hope-Lambertville summer fireworks along the Delaware River are back, with the first event coming this Friday, June 7. Expect the fireworks to start at about 9:30 p.m., according to organizers.
The fireworks events, organized by the Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, will be held three times this season. Other dates are July 5 and Aug. 2.

An online fundraiser has been launched to raise money for the shows, which are 10 minutes each but cost $11,000, according to organizers. That cost includes fireworks, logistics, and public safety.
"The Chamber is securing significant sponsorships to help defray these costs, however, we are asking all who enjoy the displays to similarly play a role," said a GoFundMe page set up to raise $35,000.

The Chamber says the fireworks are "hugely popular" and help local businesses by bringing people to town. Not everyone is a fan, however. Residents in the past have complained of the noise and crowds.
