Work at National Cemetery Earns NJ Teen Eagle Scout Award
Andrew Moldoff undertook the beautification of the flagpole area at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
Andrew Moldoff, a senior at Lawrence High School in New Jersey has earned the highest advancement award the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts, the Eagle Scout Award. He is a member of Troop #15, Ewing, NJ, Central New Jersey Council, Boy Scouts of America.
For his Eagle Scout project Andrew undertook the beautification of the flagpole area at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, digging new flowerbeds and planting 40 new shrubs. He worked with the Guardians of the National Cemetery on the design and during his project workday was assisted by 27 fellow Scouts, leaders, and members of the Lawrence High School Garden Club.

On Veterans' Day ceremonies Andrew returned to the site of his project at the National Cemetery as a featured speaker reciting the poem “In Flanders Fields.” At the end of the ceremony he presented the Guardians with a bound pictorial version of his Eagle Project, thanking them for their past and continued service.
Andrew is the son of Holly Ferris and Kirk Moldoff.
