Marcell Seeks Four More Years On Council Rock School Board
Kristin Marcell is running for a four-year term on the Council Rock School Board.

NEWTOWN, PA — A Wrightstown resident and Council Rock alum is running for a second term on the Council Rock School Board.
Kristin Schrader Marcell is running to represent Region 9 in the school district, which includes Wrightstown and Newtown Township Districts 1 and 2. Marcell was appointed to the board in 2018 following the resignation of Kyle McKessy and went on to win an uncontested two-year term in the 2019 election.
“Serving the Council Rock community over the last two and a half years has been a tremendous honor. I couldn’t be prouder to announce my candidacy to continue representing the Wrightstown and Newtown communities on the School Board,” Marcell said. “As the daughter of two teachers, education — and the Council Rock School District — has been an important part of my life.”

Marcell attended the former Chancellor Street Elementary School, Newtown Junior High and graduated from Council Rock High School. Her father, Bob Schrader, and her stepmother, Cindy Schrader, were both teachers in the district. Her father retired as an administrator in Council Rock and was one of the founders of the Council Rock Education Foundation, where Marcell now serves on the board.
She has lived in Newtown Township, Newtown Borough, Holland and Churchville and has three siblings that were Council Rock graduates from the North and South high schools. She graduated from Penn State University and earned her master's degree from George Washington University while working full-time in Washington, D.C.

The public relations and marketing executive lives in Wrightstown with her husband, Steve Marcell, and their daughter and son who attend Sol Feinstone Elementary School.
Marcell also leads her daughter's Girl Scout Troop, which includes students from Newtown, Wrightstown and Sol Feinstone Elementary.
She is cross filing and will appear on both the Republican and Democratic ballots during the primary election on May 18.
