BUCKS COUNTY, PA — In the rapidly evolving Bucks County restaurant scene, there have been some big winners in 2019, and even more promising additions are anticipated in 2020.

Dozens of new restaurants are expected to open locally in the next year. Those include wine bars, pizzerias, taco eateries, and more. The establishments are both chains and independently owned.

TURNING POINT

Turning Point, a popular lunch and breakfast chain, will be opening its third Bucks County restaurant in Doylestown. A summer 2020 opening is planned. The building, which will be completely renovated, is in the spot of Doylestown's former Friendly's restaurant. Learn more.

TREDICI

Tredici, a chic Mediterranean restaurant that last year was named the area's best wine bar by Philadelphia Magazine, is opening a Doylestown location. It will be in a new building on the corner of Broad Street and Veterans Lane in Doylestown Borough. A summer 2020 opening is planned. Learn more.

SOLSTICE

Solstice, which will have a menu offering seasonally curated dishes, will be opening in Newtown in early 2020. The eatery, to be located in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, will feature a "city-like dining experience" with "modern, whimsical plating." The indoor dining room and bar will have 165 seats. A 2,500 -square-foot outdoor patio space will seat 92. Learn more.

SANTUCCI'S

Joe Santucci's Original Square Pizza is currently under construction in Fairless Hills, with an opening expected early in the new year. It will be the first Bucks County location for Santucci's, which has a bar-and-grill style restaurant on Woodhaven Road in Philadelphia. Learn more.

IRON HILL

Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant will open a 7,500-square-foot space in spring 2020 in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. The Newtown location will be Iron Hill's 11th Pennsylvania outpost. Learn more.

LOVEBIRD

A high-end friend chicken restaurant created by the founders of Jules Thin Crust will open its second Bucks County location in Newtown. Lovebird, which has a restaurant in Doylestown, will be opening on N. Sycamore Street. The business is expected to open in early 2020. Learn more.

FIVE GUYS

Five Guys will be opening near the Oxford Valley Mall, in Lincoln Plaza. The restaurant, slated for a spring 2020 opening, will feature its famous handcrafted hamburgers made from fresh ground beef, hot dogs and fries in a fast-casual atmosphere. Learn more.

PLAYA BOWLS

Playa Bowls, a smoothie bowl shop that originated at the Jersey Shore, is planning its second Bucks County location in Newtown. The eatery was inspired by items the owners enjoyed while on surf trips to Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, California and Hawaii. BRYN AND DANE'S

Bryn and Dane's, known as a healthy fast food chain, will be opening in the Mercer Square shopping center in Doylestown in early 2020. The chain serves up healthy fast food items, including breakfast, salads, wraps, bowls, smoothies, and more. Learn more.

BOMBA TACOS & RUM

Bomba Tacos & Rum, an Ohio-based Latin-style restaurant and bar, will be opening its first area location at the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. Bomba Tacos & Rum is a premium casual taco restaurant created by Paladar Restaurant Group. It currently operates three locations in Ohio. Two are planned in Pennsylvania: In addition to the Newtown restaurant, a Malvern location is forthcoming. Learn more.

Newtown will be getting its first Chipotle in 2020. The fast-casual Mexican eatery is coming to the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. Learn more.

MOD PIZZA

MOD Pizza is opening a restaurant in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. The Seattle-based, fast-casual chain serves artisan-style pizzas and salads. The chain boasts its pizzas are "individually sized, made on demand, and ready in just minutes." Learn more.

MELT SHOP

Also coming to Lincoln Plaza in 2020 is Bucks County's second Melt Shop. The grilled cheese eatery opened its first Bucks County location in Newtown in June. Learn more.
