Newtown Cheerleading Team Competes at CheerSport Nationals

the Rock Starz All Stars Diamonds, a competitive cheer team right here in Newtown, PA recently competed in the CheerSport Nationals in Atlanta, GA this past weekend and they sure shined bright. The team, made up of about 10 cheerleaders ranging from ages 15-18, cheered their hearts out in Atlanta as they competed for the title of CheerSport National Champions and receive a paid bid to the Varsity Spirit Summit, the highest and biggest National competition of the year. The Diamonds competed in the Senior 5 X-Small Coed Division against 11 other teams. Their performance was "stunning and simply amazing" according to one spectator in attendance in Atlanta. The Diamonds only received one small deduction for a BF (Building Fall) and ended up getting in 10th place overall. Rock Starz is also home to 9 other competitive cheer teams and 1 special abilities team. It is unknown if the Diamonds will receive a bid to the Summit and whether or not this is the last competition for the Diamonds or Rock Starz. Ether way, The Diamonds sure shined bright and made Newtown very proud!
