Newtown Common Planting Day To Be Held This Saturday
Do you have a few hours to spare this weekend to help plant trees, bushes and native grasses in the historic Newtown Common?

A Newtown Common Planting Day will be held this Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During this event, volunteers will assist in planting trees, bushes and native grasses in the historic Newtown Common, located at the foot of W. Greene Street along Newtown Creek in Newtown Borough.
Volunteers will meet and sign-in behind Burns Auto Repair, located at 19 N. Sycamore Street in Newtown. Parking will not be available at this location. Free parking for volunteers will be available in the Borough municipal parking lot between Washington and Centre Avenues. Parking vouchers will be available at the volunteer check-in.
All volunteers must be at least 9 years old and children must have adult supervision. Everyone should bring gloves, a trowel or small shovel, boots or waders if you have them, and a bucket or watering can.

The rain date is Oct. 28.
