Newtown Halloween Art Scene Is On, Registration Now Open

The popular Newtown Halloween Art Scene event is on this year. Registration for the creative event, which features a Halloween-themed window painting competition, is now open.

The window painting event will be held on Oct. 17 and 18 at various businesses in Newtown.
Windows are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. One window will be assigned to each artist or group. Requests for specific windows may be honored, if possible, according to organizers.

Participants must bring their own brushes, as well as paper towels and tarp to protect windowsill area and sidewalk. Don't forget water and a container for cleaning brushes.
Paintings must be done freehand and have a family-friendly fall or Halloween theme. The theme can also be related to the shop’s merchandise or services.
All window paintings must be completed by 4 p.m. on Oct. 18.
The cost to participate is $5 per window.
To participate, you must register by Oct. 10. The registration form is here. Completed registrations can be dropped off at the Newtown Bicycle Shop (30 N. State Street) during regular business hours.
