NEWTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Department of Health recorded violations at 16 Newtown bars and restaurants between Dec. 15, 2020 and Jan. 15, 2021.

Here's what health inspectors found:

Birchwood Farm, one violation: Employees are not wearing face coverings and there is no physical barrier between cashier and customers

Dominick's Pizza, one violation: Bread boxes are being stored on the ground outside for return to the bakery

Dutch Country Salads & Desserts, three violations: Observed utensils stored with the food contact end exposed; quaternary test strips not provided; employees not wearing full face masks or face shields when interacting with public

Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar, two violations: Several items in prep top wells were above required temperature; observed a single service article being used as a scooper

Hometown Deli, two violations: Employees observed not wearing face masks or shields

Iron Deli Brewery & Restaurant, three violations: Food in prep top held at unsafe temperatures; observed wet wares stacked on drying racks; observed single service container being used as a scooper in bulk food containers

KO Restaurant, four violations: Observed a food strainer in handwash sink; observed food stored on the floor; food in prep top unit was held at unsafe temperature; bowls were stored in bulk food containers

La Stalla Market, eight violations: Observed employee drinks stored throughout refrigeration units and food prep areas; observed containers stacked directly on top of food; front lowboy unit was not maintaining food at safe temperature for cold holding; HAACP plan not in the facility; food is being portioned and put directly into the retail cooler for sale; observed rags stored on the cutting boards and in the hand sink: observed knives stored under slicer; several areas unclean including counter area under slicer, floors underneath equipment in kitchen, surfaces of cooking equipment, hood above cookline, shelves in cookline area

Ota-Ya Japanese Restaurant, four violations: Food in prep top area at unsafe temperatures; sushi proteins and meat in freezers are not date marked; sushi rice was above required pH level; range above fryers is accumulating dust and grease

Panda Garden, one violation: Employees were not wearing masks as required by the governor's orders

Pat's Colonial Kitchen, two violations: Observed food debris in the handwashing sink; observed a can of Raid under the two-compartment sink

Riehl's Baked Goods, one violation: No barrier between patrons and employees at checkout, no "masks required" signage at entrances of market

Rocco's at The Brick Hotel, five violations: Observed an employee eating on the cookline and employee drinks on food prep surfaces; food workers observed using bare hands for preparing ready to eat food; observed utensils in the hand wash sink basin; bar glass washer not providing any sanitizer; three compartment sinks were set up improperly

Solstice, three violations: Observed employee using cellphone on a food prep surface; pork in prep top unit was not at a safe temperature; observed wet wares stacked and utensils stored in standing water

The Temperance House, one violation: Observed a bowl stored inside a bulk food container

Zook's BBQ Barn, two violations: Food in hot holding unit not at safe temperature; bleach test strips not provided
