Newtown Township Residents Receive Incorrect Tax Bill

Some Newtown Township residents received an error in their tax bill they received for Council Rock School District's Occupational Tax.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Newtown Township residents received an error in their tax bill for the Council Rock School District's Occupational Tax, according to township tax collector Tammy Sutton.

The error was the result of the bill printing company using the incorrect tax rate, Sutton said. The printing company has agreed to send a revised occupation tax bill to residents, she said.

If residents issue payments based on the invalid bill, the payment will be returned as the township is not permitted to accept or process partial or incorrect payments, she added.
