Recent Newtown Police Activity: Suspicion of DUI, Broken Lock
The following recent activity was reported by the Newtown Township Police Department.
Newtown Township Police suspect a Northampton woman of driving under the influence after making a traffic stop early this morning.
Police stopped Patricia Goldsmith, 55, for making an illegal turn onto Durham Road after leaving the parking lot of Veterans Park. While speaking to the driver, the officer believed the woman was under the influence of alcohol.
Goldsmith was taken into custody and transported to Saint Mary Medical Center where she submitted to a blood draw. Charges of DUI are pending until results from the Bucks County Crime Lab are returned.

In other police news, a homeowner in the Newtown Crossing Development reported a broken lock on an outside shed at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The victim reported that the damage occurred between March 20-30. There were no reported items missing from the shed.
