As Schools Opt For Virtual Start, NAC Plans Enrichment Program
In response to schools starting the year virtually, the NAC's summer camp will soon transform into an onsite school enrichment program.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Athletic Club, in response to schools announcing online or partial in-person starts to the year, has announced its summer camp will soon transform into an onsite school enrichment program.
The Newtown Township health club and recreational facility said parents have reached out expressing their concern for child care in the event schools offer partial or virtual learning.
As a result of the community's concerns, the facility said Camp NAC will turn into a program to supplement the schools' offerings.

The Council Rock School District last week decided it would start schools fully virtual in September, then introduce an option for part-time in-person instruction starting Sept. 29.
The NAC's enrichment program is for all students ages 3 to 18 years old and will be held each weekday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Full week or two and three day options will be available.

It will feature enrichment coaches who will help implement virtual learning. Plus, physical education, music, art and reading will be incorporated into the curriculum.
Students who enroll in the program will be grouped with other students in their district, school and grade, according to the NAC.
Work spaces and daily activities will take place throughout the NAC's 26-acre campus.
The facility said it is following health and safety guidelines from the CDC and the WHO, as well as local governments. During the program, there will be a "continuous practice of physical distancing."
Several hygiene, safety, and physical distancing best practices will be in place, including systematic temperature checks, staff appointed "Health Guards," and enhanced cleaning and sanitation systems.
Limited spots are available. A deposit is required to reserve a spot. More information on enrollment and pricing is here. If you have specific questions about the program, call 215-933-2171 or email jdavis@newtownathletic.com.
