Severe Thunderstorm Warning In Bucks, Montco: 60 MPH Winds, Hail

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued in the Philadelphia suburbs after a storm with 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail is moving through the region, the National Weather Service said.

Severe storms were located just after 2 p.m. along a line extending from the Chalfont area to Plymouth Meeting. The storms are moving east at 5 mph.

The warning is in place through 2:45 p.m.

The storms are expected impact the communities of Lansdale, Doylestown, Hatboro, Ambler, Newtown, Richboro Blue Bell, Maple Glen, and beyond.

As of 2:38 p.m., PECO is reporting more than 10,000 people are without power across its coverage area.
