Snack item collection to benefit Bensalem Senior Citizens Assoc.

The Birches at Newtown is helping its local community with a monthlong collection of prepackaged snack items to benefit the Bensalem Senior Citizens Association. From June 1-30, bring your donations to The Birches, located at 70 Durham Road in Newtown.

For many seniors, snacks help maintain energy levels and stabilize blood sugars between meals. Items accepted include assorted nuts, fruit cups, granola bars, pudding cups, fig bars, sandwich crackers, and other prepackaged health snack options. Please check expiration dates.

The Bensalem Senior Citizens Association originated in 1973 as a senior center for persons aged 55 and older. The association encourages good fellowship and companionship among its members by promoting social activities, community improvement projects, and other related activities.
