There's A New Baker In Newtown: Meet 'SugarBomb'

NEWTOWN, PA — What started as a passionate hobby for Stephanie Eubanks has turned into a growing business.

The Virginia native is the name behind SugarBomb, a new dessert provider operating out of the Green Parrot Restaurant in Newtown.

Eubanks moved to Bucks County 12 years ago and has worked in several restaurants, including as breakfast chef at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm in Holicong. She put her career on pause to raise her daughter, Ava, now 7 years old and a big fan of her mom's cooking. Since then, she's mostly been cooking and baking for family and friends, but word of her talents has spread around town.

Growing up in the South, Stephanie Eubanks has memories of cooking beside her grandmother in her childhood kitchen, where she learned how to make everything from fried chicken to pecan pie. Her other grandmother passed away when she was 3 years old, but not before leaving her with a fond memory.

"My only memory of her is me standing up in the chair and being next to the stove and sniffing the bacon," she laughs.

That moment has stuck with her, as bacon maintains a prominent place in her sweet treats. Her menu for her opening week includes an item called, "The Chocolate Pig", a chocolate cupcake infused with bacon.

"I am a big fan of putting ingredients that should not be in a product and making it work," she said.

Eubanks is currently taking orders through Facebook and Instagram pages. Available items include, but are not limited to: cupcakes, cakesicles, hot cocoa bombs, cake pops, brownie bites, cheesecake bites, and treat boxes.
