Upper Makefield Police Get Accreditation, Appoint Female Sergeant
The Upper Makefield Township Police Department is now an accredited law enforcement agency in the state of Pennsylvania.
UPPER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Upper Makefield Township Police Department is officially an accredited law enforcement agency, the department announced last week.
The accreditation, obtained through the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association, ensures that police departments provide the most up-to-date police practices and meet the 139 standards for accreditation.
The Upper Makefield Township Police Department becomes the 127th law enforcement agency out of the more than 1,000 police departments in the state to receive the designation.

The Upper Makefield Township Board of Supervisors officially recognized the accomplishment at the board's Tuesday meeting, where the board also recognized the promotion of Sgt. Mary Kate Huff, who becomes the police department's first female sergeant.
