We've compiled a list of our favorite pumpkin patches in the Newtown area for the fall season.

NEWTOWN, PA — As coronavirus-related restrictions force numerous events and activities to move outdoors, one fall tradition remains largely unchanged: the pumpkin patch.

While some farms have adjusted hours due to the pandemic, many will remain open during the fall season, offering corn mazes, hayrides and pumpkins for the picking, albeit with safety measures in place such as mandatory mask-wearing and social distancing requirements.

Here's a selection of some of the best pumpkin patches in the Newtown area:

SHADY BROOK FARM
What: Shady Brook Farm's annual Fall fest features include pumpkin picking, corn maze, wagon rides, and more.

EASTBURN PUMPKIN PATCH

What: Small, family-owned pumpkin patch offering a variety of pumpkins and gourds.
Where: 1085 Durham Rd, Pineville
When: Opening day for pumpkin season is Sept. 26
Cost: varies by size/weight

FROEHLICH'S FARM

What: Froehlich's Farm hosts a Fall Festival featuring a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, a five-acre corn maze, a hay maze, and more. Safety precautions will be in place, including a reservations-only policy. You can view the fall festival protocols here. If you want to just visit the pumpkin patch, you can do that on Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m. No admission fee for the pumpkin patch only, and reservations not needed.

When: Weekends from Sept. 26 to Oct. 31.
