Wrightstown Man Found Dead; Homicide Investigation Underway
According to information released by the coroner's office, the man died at his home from multiple stab and slash wounds.

WRIGHTSTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA ? The death of a 72-year-old Wrightstown Township man on Oct. 7 has been ruled a homicide by the Bucks County Coroner's office.
According to information released Oct. 13 by Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck, Richard MacFarland died at his home in Wrightstown Township from multiple stab and slash wounds.

?His manner of death is determined to be homicide and this case remains under investigation by the Newtown Township Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney?s Office,? reports Buck.
?Our office extends its deepest condolences to family and friends during this most difficult and tragic time,? said Buck.

A spokesperson with the District Attorney's office confirmed an "active investigation" and said there is no threat to the community.
Editor's Note: It was first reported by the Bucks County Coroner's Office that the victim was from Newtown Township. The Coroner's Office later corrected the residence of the victim to Wrightstown Township.
