Collegeville Plans Public Meeting To Discuss Residential Rezoning
The borough will discuss rezoning a manufacturing and industrial area so townhouses can be built by WB Homes.
COLLEGEVILLE, PA — The Borough of Collegeville is set to hold a public meeting Tuesday to discuss rezoning an industrial area so townhouses can be built.
In a release, the borough said WB Homes has presented a plan to build townhouses on the former Rees Industrial Property bounded by W. Third Avenue, W. Fourth Avenue, Walnut Street and Chestnut Street.
The property is across W. Third Avenue from Collegeville Station and is currently zoned Manufacturing and Industrial.

The borough has proposed creating a Main Street Commercial Residential District in the area, which would allow the building of single family housing units.
The release states WB Homes president Chris Canavan will present the developer’s plans for the development during the meeting. He will also hear residents’ and council’s concerns and answer questions.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the property in question at 35 W. Third Avenue. Attendees are asked to wear masks and socially distance.
The Collegeville Planning Commission voted to approve the townhouses during a June 18 meeting.
Now, the council will meet to take a deciding vote on the townhouses in a meeting at 6 p.m. on August 5. The meeting will be held via Zoom, and residents can attend.
