Norristown's Arbor Heights Wins Award From Urban Land Institute

It's been called one of the best real estate projects in the region in the last five years.

Norristown’s Arbor Heights development has won a prestigious award from the Urban Land Institute, according to Norristown.org.

The project was won the Willard G. “Bill” Rouse III Award for Excellence, which recognizes the best real estate projects over the last five years across Eastern and Central Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware.

Arbor Heights was selected from over 15 finalists.

Some of the features it was recognized for included environmental sustainability, energy reduction, quality planning and design, historic preservation, multipurpose entertainment, and more.

“This year’s winners and finalists represent some of the most innovative real estate developments in the region,” Christopher M. Hager, P.E., Chair of ULI Philadelphia said in a press release. “The winners both this year and last year demonstrate how responsible land use has the ability to transform the built environment into something that revitalizes and reshapes our communities.”

Arbor Heights, a series of affordable townhomes, is on 1000 DeKalb Street in Norristown.
