McCANDLESS TOWNSHIP, PA - Groundbreaking has occurred on the Allegheny Health Network-Highmark Health’s new neighborhood hospital in McCandless Crossing at the intersection of McKnight Road and Duncan Avenue.
The medical facility, along with three other AHN neighborhood hospitals planned for Hempfield, Harmar and Brentwood, are expected to be open in late 2019. AHN has partnered with Texas-based Emerus, a developer and operator of neighborhood hospitals, on the $1 billion expansion plan.
AHN McCandless will be a fully licensed small-format hospital that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will include an emergency department, 10-bed inpatient unit, diagnostic imaging resources and laboratory and other complementary medical services.
