McCandless Appoints Acting Police Chief

It's unclear when suspended Chief David DiSanti will return to the job.

McCANDLESS, PA - With Police Chief David DiSanti still serving an unpaid suspension, town council on Monday appointed Police Lt. Ryan Hawk to serve as acting chief.

DiSanti was suspended last week following accusations of inappropriate behavior toward a female officer. He will remain off the job until he agrees to a corrective action plan that township officials have yet to devise.

DiSanti had been on paid leave since October while the township conducted an investigation, and he received a vote of no confidence from the McCandless Police Officer's Association in December.
