McCandless Man Charged In String Of Bank Robberies

Authorities say he held up three banks this month and attempted to rob a fourth.

McCANDLESS, PA - A McCandless man has been charged with recently robbing three area banks and attempting to rob a fourth, U.S. Attorney Scott Brady announced Friday.

Dylan Michael Poole, 24, was arrested Thursday after entering the PNC Bank in Latrobe with a note explaining that a robbery was occurring and he had a gun, according to the criminal complaint.

According to authorities, the note was similar to ones Pool allegedly left at the scene of two previous robberies, at a PNC branch in Donegal on Nov. 9 and a First National Bank in Wexford on Nov. 13. Poole also was charged with robbing the WesBanco Bank in McCandless on Nov. 8, receiving approximately $2,030 from the teller.
