McCandless Police Lieutenant Suspended: Report
Lt. Jeffrey Basl and Chief David DiSanti have been off the job since October while an investigation took place.

McCANDLESS, PA - McCandless Police Lt. Jeffrey Basl will be suspended for 10 days without pay following accusations by a female officer of inappropriate conduct, WPXI-TV reported. The fate of embattled Police Chief David DiSanti apparently remains unresolved.
Town officials announced via Facebook on Friday that the inquiry into Basl had concluded but didn’t offer details beyond this statement: “Town Council has instructed the current acting Chief of Police to carry out the appropriate personnel action.”
DiSanti and Basl have been on paid leave since October while an investigation into their conduct occurred.

KDKA-TV reported the investigation involves alleged sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior toward a female officer. She has accused DiSanti of trying to kiss her while she was in uniform at his home, according to the station. KDKA also reported that Basl allegedly made lewd and inappropriate comments while on the job.
DiSanti has denied any wrongdoing, according to KDKA. The female officer has not been identified.

DiSanti has received a vote of no confidence from the McCandless Police Officer's Association. Twenty four officers affirmed the no confidence vote, one officer opposed and one abstained.
