Former Chicago Bears, North Allegheny RB Baschnagel Among Inductees to Western PA Sports Hall of Fame
The record-setting football star later played for Ohio State and the Chicago Bears. He will be among 10 sports stars to be honored at a ceremony May 4.
A former North Allegheny High School star running back who went on to play with the Chicago Bears will be among the 2013 inductees to the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Brian Baschnagel, 59, will be among 10 of the region's sports stars to join the sports hall of fame at a ceremony and dinner May 4 at the Sheraton Four Points Pittsburgh North in Marshall Township, according to the Post-Gazette.
A 1972 graduate of North Allegheny, Baschnagel was the first running back in the WPIAL to rush for more than 400 yards in one game, according to the Post-Gazette. He later played as a running back and wing back at Ohio State University, where he was an All-American player in 1974 and 1975.

The Bears drafted him in the third round in 1976. He played with Chicago until 1984, according to Pro Football Archives
