Nearby St. Teresa Festival in Perrysville is 'End of Summer Bang'
The six-day long festival at the St. Teresa of Avila Parish in nearby Perrysville will have live entertainment, including a performance by the El Dorado band; games and carnival rides and a chance to win $12,000.

Summer is almost over, but before the kids go back to school the St. Teresa of Avila Parish is throwing the North Hills community one last hurrah with its six-day long summer festival.Â
Festival goers can expect carnival rides and games, nightly live performances and a different meal served every day from Aug. 19 to 24.Â
"Everyone looks forward to it every year. It's kind of an end of summer bang," said Connie Stewart from the festival committee.
The festival kicks off with a flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.Â
"It's amazing really the amount of stuff," Stewart said. "Literally hundreds of volunteers have spent the past weeks tagging and pricing these treasures."
While the flea market will continue daily throughout the festival, Saturday morning is its big reveal and Stewart expects to see a line out the door.Â
Festival goers will have a chance to bid on 26 different prizes, including a new TV, a night's stay at a resort and an iPad from the Chinese auction.Â
If they're feeling lucky, there is also raffle for $12,000. Winners are drawn Saturday night along with the Chinese auction, and get a phone call to tell them they've won.
"Everybody always hopes their phone rings on Saturday night," Stewart said.Â
The kids can enjoy the St. Teresa festival, too, according to Stewart. There will be a petting zoo, carnival rides and inflatable games.
Bingo is held Wednesday through Saturday as well.
"We really have a little bit of everything for everyone this year," Stewart said.Â
