'New Year's Rockin' Eve' To Feature Native Pittsburgh Peformers

The city will be well-represented as the ball drops in Times Square on New Year's Eve.

PITTSBURGH, PA - TV’s most popular New Year’s Eve show will rely on Pittsburgh natives to ring in 2019. “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019,” will be headlined by Christina Aguilera and also feature country duo Dan + Shay.

Aguilera, who grew up in Beaver County and Wexford and attended North Allegheny High School, will be making her first appearance on the New Year’s Eve show since 2007. She’ll take the stage in New York’s Times Square just moments before the ball drops to ring in 2019.

Dan + Shay, consisting of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, recently were nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Tequila.” Smyers also lived in Wexford and graduated from North Allegheny.
