Two North Allegheny Seniors Get $20,000 Coca-Cola Scholarships

The pair are among just 150 students nationwide to receive the scholarship.

McCANDLESS, PA - Two North Allegheny seniors have been hamed 2019 Coca-Cola Scholars, which brings them each a $20,000 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.

Christopher Lee and Luke Turkovich were selected from a national pool of 95,715 applicants based on their academic excellence, leadership, and service demonstrated in school and community activities.They are two of 150 high school students nationwide who are members of Coca-Cola Scholars 31st class, and North Allegheny is one of just seven Pennsylvania high schools with students recognized by the foundation this year.


A joint effort of Coca-Cola bottlers across the country and The Coca-Cola Company, the Coca-Cola Scholars Program is one of the largest corporate-sponsored, achievement-based scholarship programs of its kind. With the addition of the 2019 class, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation will have provided more than 6,300 Coke Scholars nationwide with over $69 million in scholarships over the course of 31 years. The 31st class of Scholars alone will collectively be awarded $3.1 million in scholarships.

In addition to receiving college scholarships, Coca-Cola Scholars will travel to Atlanta Georgia in April for Scholars Weekend, where they will attend a celebratory banquet and participate in a leadership development curriculum.
