Babcock-Peoples Intersection Back To Normal

But expect short-term restrictions will occur in the area for the next month, PennDOT said.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - After enduring more than a year of inconvenience, motorists traveling through the township can breathe a sigh of relief. The Babcock Boulevard-Peoples Road intersection is back to its original configuration.

PennDOT crews have completed the excavation and replacement of the culvert under the sidewalk of Peoples Road and Babcock Boulevard. Additionally, roadway restoration work at the intersection, including the spur from Peoples Road to eastbound Babcock Boulevard has been completed.

Long-term restrictions, controlled by temporary traffic signals, have been lifted. The traffic signal contractor will monitor the intersection throughout the day.

The current truck detour will remain in place.

Utility relocation work will continue on the project. To allow the work to occur, short-term daylight restrictions will occur weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Dec. 18. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.

This $2.74 million emergency repair was due to flash flooding that occurred in July 2018.
