BJ's Wholesale Club Planning Second Pittsburgh Location
The rival to Sam's Club and Costco plans another store in the Pittsburgh area.
ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — BJ's Wholesale Club is advancing plans to build a store at The Block Northway on the site of the former Northway Elementary School. BJ's also is establishing a location in South Fayette.

The membership-only club has warehouse in 17 states and employed approximately 25,000 team members, both full- and part-time. Clubs are found in Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York,Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Ohio and Michigan.

The club has six million members and does $12.7 billion in annual sales, according to its website. BJ's says it offers 25 percent or more savings on a representative basket of manufacturer-branded groceries compared to traditional supermarket competitors. BJ's provides a curated assortment focused on perishable products, continuously refreshed general merchandise, gas and other ancillary services.
