Comedy Night Friday in West View to Support Students Studying Music

Tickets are $20 and include an open bar for beer, soft drinks and snacks. The event, which is being held at the Fireman's Banquet Hall, is also BYOB.

A comedy night featuring Joe Eberle from "She's Outta My League," Lisa Dapprich, the host of "Date Night TV," and Mike Conley from ABC and XM Radio, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the .

The event is being held as a fundrasier for the Instrumental Parents' Association. Performers are part of Slapstick Comedy Productions. Tickets are $20 and include an open bar for beer, soft drinks and snacks. The event is also BYOB.

"It’s supposed to be very funny," said Cliff Knott, the fundraising chair for the IPA.

The IPA supports students in grades four through 12 studying music in the , assisting with the costs of instruments and trips and offering scholarships. 

"We do anything that helps the kids," said Knott, who has a 16-year-old son who plays the trumpet. Another son, now 20, played the trombone.

He said the IPA does what it can to help offset the costs that the parents are often asked to pay. 

The comedy night is the first of its kind as a fundraising event for the group. The hall seats about 400 people.
