Coronavirus: Ross Park Mall, South Hills Village Shut Down

The malls' owner announced the closures Wednesday.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Two of the region's largest malls, Ross Park Mall and South Hills Village, have closed due to the coronavirus outbreak. The closures were announced by Simon Properties, which owns both retail complexes.

"The health and safety of our shoppers, retailers and employees is of paramount importance and we are taking this step to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities," David Simon, Simon CEO, said in a statement.

The closures will end on March 29.

Simon is shutting down all of its retail properties nationwide. The company is the largest mall owner in the country.
