2 North Hills School Board Incumbents Lose Re-Election Bids

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - Two North Hills school board incumbents were voted out of office Tuesday, while Democrats swept the Ross commissioners races. With 100 percent of the results in, here are the winners and losers:
North Hills School Board (four open seats):
Incumbent Annette Giovengo Nolish: 19.8 percentSandra Kozera: 16.1 percent
Alison Mathis: 15.4 percent
Incumbent Kathy Reid: 13.6 percent
Incumbent Michael Yeomans: 12.1 percent
Incumbent Joe Muha: 11.7 percent
Janet Lukac 11.1 percent

Ross Commissioners
Four of the nine seats were open.

- Second Ward
Democratic incumbent Steve Korbel an attorney with Babst Callands, defeated Republican James Knox, a former Pittsburgh Tribune-Review photographer, 73 percent to 26 percent.,
- Fourth Ward
Democrat Joseph Laslavic, a Shaler Area School District defeated Republican Casey O'Donnell. 56 percent to 43 percent.
- Sixth Ward
Democrat Jason Pirring, a Shaler Area School District teacher, defeated Republican Matthew Edlinger, 76 percent to 23 percent.
- Eighth Ward
Democratic incumbent Jeremy Shaffer had no Republican opponent on the ballot and was re-elected.
West View Council
Democratic Mayor John Henry faced no Republican opposition and was re-elected. For the four open council seats, Democrats Robert Schellhass, Bryan Kircher, William Aguglia and Eugene Borio also faced no GOP opponents and were elected.
