Late Wrestling Legend Bruno Sammartino's Son Dies At 50

Daniel Sammartino's death comes just months after his father died.

ROSS TOWNSHIP PA - Daniel Sammartino, the son of the late wrestling giant Bruno Sammartino, died Tuesday. Mr. Sammartino, 50, of Allison Park, was the co-owner of the Barbers Edge on Babcock Boulevard in Ross.

Mr. Sammartino’s death follows by little more than six months the passing of Bruno Sammartino, who went from the small town of Abruzzi, Italy to the pinnacle of professional wrestling. The longest reigning champion in WWE history and a WWW Hall of Famer died in April at 82.

Mr. Sammartino is survived by his mother, Carol Sammartino of Ross; his fiance of eight years Cindy, and her children Eric, Ryan and Brad Stabuer; sons Anthony and Vincent Sammartino; brothers David and Darryl (Holly) Sammartino; and nephew Bruno Sammartino.

Friends will be received Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Highway in Ross. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian Parish in Ross.

Entombment will be private.
