Laundromat Fire in Perrysville Closes Business for a Few Days
The fire, which occurred late afternoon Monday in one dryer, damaged little. The clothing in the dryer was washed and returned undamaged to the customer, the owner of the laundromat said.
No one was injured and there was only minor damage after a fire broke out at the in Perrysville and closed Perry Highway for a short period Monday afternoon.Â
The laundromat should reopen within a few days, said owner Russ Kniffin.Â
A bad gas valve likely caused the fire, which was confined to one dryer and reported at about 4:19 p.m., according to Ross Township Fire Marshal John Reubi.Â

The dryer was in use at the time. The clothing was fine, Reubi and Kniffin said.Â
"I washed it for them because of the smoke, but they were able to take it home," Kniffinsaid."Â

A customer at the responded immediately with a fire extinguisher, which probably helped keep the fire's effect minimal, Reubi said.Â
Firefighters from the  and those from the , , , Mt. Troy and responded. Ross Township Fire Police and Ross West View EMS also attended.
The response is standard for a confirmed fire, said Perrysville Assistant Chief David Snyder.Â
