Man Who Set 2005 Fire at National Guard Building on Valley Hi Drive is Sentenced

A man who set fire in 2005 to a building rented by the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in Ross Township was sentenced to four years in prison today, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Derek Secrist, 29, of Westmoreland County, pleaded guilty to a charge of arson in January. Investigators said Secrist, a staff sergeant at the facility, set fire Nov. 18, 2005 to the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's A Company, 28th Signal Corp Battalion, at 100 Valley Hi Drive.
