More Than 2,400 Ross Homes Without Power
The winter weather is wreaking havoc with electrical service in the Pittsburgh metro area.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - Duquesne Light is working to restore service to approximately 2,400 homes in Ross where power was knocked out because of Thursday’s wintry weather and Friday morning’s high winds.
As of Friday morning, approximately 24,000 homes across the region were without power because of snow and ice-laden trees falling onto power lines. Duquesne Light crews and 100 contractors are working on restoration efforts. They will work in 16-hour shifts until service is restored to all customers.
The hardest hit areas also include Indiana Township and Hampton, Duquesne Light officials said.
