More McKnight Road Work Will Impact Traffic Between Nelson Run and Perrymont
Inside passing lanes will be closed as needed in both directions week nights, starting tonight. The work will continue through late May, according to PennDOT.

Overnight, intermittent, single-lane closures are expected to begin Monday, April 2, on McKnight Road, weather permitting, according to PennDOT District 11.Â
Crews will conduct curb improvements in various locations between Nelson Run Road and Perrymont Road. The inside passing lanes will be closed as needed in both directions week nights through late May according to the following timeframes:
* Northbound: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

* Southbound: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.Â
At least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

The work is part of an $8.8 million, 4.6 mile project to improve McKnight Road. Overall work will conclude in spring 2012. The prime contractor is Lindy Paving, Inc. of New Castle, PA.Â
