North Hills Graduation Ceremony On Despite Inclement Weather

Yes, it's raining. But the North Hills commencement ceremony remains on.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — The weather isn't the best. But commencement for the North Hills High School class of 2021 will take place this evening.

While rain in the area is likely, the district this said in a release that this evening’s forecast gives
the best chance for favorable conditions as Saturday's forecast is not only wet - high temperatures are expected only in the low 50s.

Tonight’s ceremony is set o begin at 7 p.m., although the start time could be delayed by to 90 minutes as the weather system continues to develop. Additional communication will be sent via email as necessary.

For those unable to attend in-person, the ceremony will be streamed live on NHSD’s YouTube channel.

Seniors will be permitted to remove their masks only when six feet apart and seated on the field during the ceremony. Graduates can also remove their masks prior to walking across the stage to receive their diploma.

Those who are not fully vaccinated should wear a mask for the ceremony to protect themselves. With the state’s increased capacity limits, the district is allowing additional guests into the
stadium and cannot guarantee all attendees will be able to maintain six feet of social distance to those not in their household at all times.
