North Hills Hockey Club Offers Tryouts for All Team Levels May 6 - May 10

A parent or guardian must attend the first tryout to sign the required forms. Here are the dates and times for the tryouts and additional information about the team levels.

The North Hills High School Hockey Club will hold free team tryouts starting Sunday, May 6 and running through Thursday, May 10. 

Dates and times are dependent on what grade your child will be entering and teams are decided on skill level. Tryouts are open to all residents of the . Varsity is for students in ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th grade. Junior Varsity is for eighth, ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.

Freshmen is for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students and—for this year only—ninth graders are eligible if they have never been registered with USA Hockey before. Freshmen is a non-checking league.

All grade levels are for the 2012-2013 school year.  

Please arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your assigned time. A $150 deposit is due at the first tryout and is applied toward your 2012-2013 player fees. If you decline your team placement you will receive a refund of your deposit.

A parent or guardian must attend the first tryout to sign the required forms. Dates and times for the tryouts are:

* 7 p.m., Sunday, May 6 — FRESHMEN

* 8 p.m., Sunday, May 6 – VARSITY

* 7:30 p.m., Monday, May 7 – FRESHMEN

* 8:30 p.m., Monday, May 7 at 8:30 pm – JUNIOR VARSITY

* 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 9 – JUNIOR VARSITY

* 8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 10 – VARSITY

Also, during tryouts, sign-ups will be held for the Skills Development Program, which runs Sundays, November through March at the RMU Island Sports Center. Benefits are approximately 20 hours of on-ice instruction and include a jersey and socks. All boys and girls in grades three through seven or kindergarten through second grade with one year ice skating experience, are eligible.  

Player Fees are $200 ($50 non-refundable deposit/commitment fee due at registration and applied toward player fees). USA Hockey Registration Fee (one-time annual fee) is $40. Full Ice Hockey Equipment is required. Discounts and fundraising is available for all teams and programs.  

Founded in 1973 the North Hills High School Hockey Club offers North Hills School District student athletes grades one through 12 the opportunity to play at the Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman and Developmental levels. The North Hills High School Hockey Club is a member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL).
