North Hills Junior High Choir Members to Sing at PMEA Festival
Freshmen Christine Brown and Matt Plazek and eighth-graders Carley Cassandro and Isabella Roll were selected to the 125-member ensemble.

Four  choir students will participate in the 2012 PMEA District 1 Junior High Chorus West Festival. Â
The event will be April 13-14 at Shaler Area Middle School.Â
Freshmen Christine Brown and Matt Plazek and eighth-graders Carley Cassandro and Isabella Roll were selected to the 125-member ensemble, which includes students from schools in Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Â

The singers, in grades seven-nine, will prepare the music ahead of time and then come together as a full choir to rehearse together on Friday with guest conductor Howard Moser, a retired member of the North Allegheny School District music faculty.Â
There will be a concert for friends and family at 2 p.m. April 14 in the Shaler Area Middle School auditorium.

Later in the month, Shaun Cloonan, secondary choral teacher, will be guest conductor for the PMEA District 1 Junior High East Festival April 27-28. The East Allegheny School District will be host, and the event will include about 90 choir students in grades seven-nine.
