North Hills School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in North Hills is August 23. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The North Hills has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/8 - 8/10: Induction for New Teachers
• 8/9: High School Orientation at 6:00 p.m.
• 8/16 - 8/18 and 8/21: Professional Development Day for Teachers
• 8/17: Kindergarten Parent Orientation (6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in All Elementary Buildings), Grade 7 Middle School Orientation/Curriculum Night for Students and Parents (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.), Middle School Orientation for New Grade 8 Students (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
• 8/21: Kindergarten Student Orientation (9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in All Elementary Buildings)
• 8/22: Clerical Day for Teachers
• 8/23: First Day of School for Students
• 8/24: Grade 8 Middle School Curriculum Night for Parents (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
• 8/30: High School Open House (6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.)
• 8/31: Curriculum Night for Grades 1 to 6 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)

September

• 11/22 - 11/27: No School for Students and Teachers (Thanksgiving Vacation)
